SURPRISING ENIGMA GUILD CHARTER

I. MISSION STATEMENT

Surprising Enigma is a casual 10-man raiding guild founded on the concept of hardcore attitudes but casual raid times. We are not setting out to get server firsts. Our goal is to progress and see content, but have fun doing it.

II. MEMBERSHIP RANKS.

i. Initiate

These are new members to the guild who aspire to become raiders. This rank has zero gbank access. You will be an initiate for a minimum of two weeks.
ii. Alt
The alt rank are alts of members of any rank, from initiates to the guild leader. This rank has zero gbank access.
iii. Member
Members are social members of the guild. Friends of raiders, former raiders, or just people who want to enjoy a fun atmosphere in /g. If a core raid member is unable to attend they are given priority over alts.
iv. Raider
Raiders are our core 10-man raiding team. They are given priority for raid spots over members. Raiders are expected to bring enough flasks / food for the duration of any raid time.
v. Officer
Officers are the guild leader's lackeys. Responsible for keeping general order, they also have tasks including recruitment and organizing the guild bank. May also be part of the core raiding team.
vi. Guild Master
Our illustrious overlord. A bit like Santa, he knows if you've been bad or good so be good for goodness sake.

III. CODE OF CONDUCT

A few rules that should not need mentioning, but are here so we know that everyone is on the same page.

As a member of Surprising Enigma, you represent the guild in everything you do. We expect common decency and a sense of decorum in regards to your actions both to your fellow guild members and those outside the guild. With that said, here are a few examples of what not to do.

i. Do not troll trade. Trade is for the trading of goods and services for gold or other goods and services, not Chuck Norris jokes or talking about that funny video you just saw.
ii. Do not troll the official World of Warcraft forums. It gives both us and you a bad name. If you see something negative pertaining to the guild on the realm forums, let the officers and guild leader know instead of responding yourself in the heat of the moment.
iii. Do not attack another person's method of play because you disagree with it. Variety is the spice of life, and we can only expect others to respect our differences if we can also respect their own.
iv. There is a time and place for everything. For instance, if you disagree with loot distribution or a boss strategy don't bring it up in /ra or /g, but instead contact an officer about it.
v. Raiders: Be prepared for raids! Part and parcel with having a good raiding attitude is preparedness. Come with flasks, food, and reagents.

IV. LOOT RULES

Loot is run via Loot Council in 10-mans and open rolls in guild-sponsored 25-man PuGs. Off spec loot goes to open rolls. If an officer is interested in the item in question they will not have a say in who it is awarded to.

i. Mechanics. When loot drops, the loot master will post the item in raid warning. Directly following that, there will be a ready check. If you DO NOT want the item in question, click "YES", signifying that you are ready to move on past this piece of loot. If you do want the item, click "NO" signifying that you are not ready to move on from it.

The officers will discuss the item and those who signified they want it and award it to the one they deem in need of it most. If a decision cannot be made, people may be asked to roll.

ii. Priorities. Decisions will be made on three factors that pretty much speak for themselves:

a. Current gear. Is the piece a large upgrade or a small upgrade for those who want it?
b. Attendance. Are the people asking for loot reliable raiders who rarely miss a raid, or flakes who only show up every once in a while?
c. Previous loot. Have the people being considered for this item received many pieces in the recent past?

V. RAID TIMES AND ATTENDANCE

10-man raids are run Sunday and Monday from 8PM ST to 12 Midnight ST. These times are set to allow us to both progress into Ulduar and farm T7 raids for gear and fun.

The first night will be spent progressing in Ulduar, the second in Naxxramas/EoE for gear and additional emblems. This may and probably will change when patch 3.2 and the next tier of raiding is released.

Core 10-man raiders of the rank "Raider" are expected to be available for both nights of raiding. Monday is semi-negotiable if there is no gear you require; talk to Ama who leads those raids.

This means keeping raid IDs clear for Ulduar-10, Naxxramas-10, and Eye of and Eternity-10. You are free to PuG anything else, if you so desire.
